Seriously take into account meditation. I have buddies that came back from Iraq that says it helps calm the mind. Most likely stress.
That is, as long as you're not intoxicated with anything when going to sleep. Otherwise, there's your problem. |

That sounds terrible, I'm sorry, and I don't know why it's happening. But something I've tried before to help prevent it is to turn the radio on while you sleep loud enough so you can hear it but not loud enough to keep you up. You sleep lighter when you do this, and I didn't have as many dreams. Good luck!

a lot of things can effect your dreams. i will give you a few exsamples and hopefully one of them will stand out to you.
1. what you eat before you go to sleep. certain foods can effect your brain in differant ways resulting in bad dreams. try changeing your diet or it least the last meal of your day. 2. media. some people sleep with the tv on. when you are asleep your brain still processes what is going on around you. if you have the tv on there may be a certain show that comes on and you are "in it". 3. back ground noise. the brain reacts to different noise while you are asleep. something such as a fan or air conditioner can put you into an uncontrolled hypnotic state. thus the reason you cant scream or move in your bad dreams. i hope some of this helps and i hope this is the best answer. |

You sound like you have an extreme amount of stress and physical exhaustion. You are experiencing sleep paralysis, because your brain is waking faster than you body can. This is most common under long periods of high mental stress and awareness, or your body being in adrenole overload (fight or flight) constantly. Take a day off and do nothing but sleep as long as you can, in a totally quiet and comfortable room. A hot bath before bed can also help relax the brain to equal the body's resting level. Some people need mundane mental exercise before going to sleep. I work crossword puzzles until my brain is tired enough to go to sleep with my body. You need to achieve a better brain/body rest cycle equilibrium.

You sound that your having pacnic attacks in your sleep, i used to have themand there is an official medical term for them. I synpathise with you because i suffered these and the feeling of someone being on top of you is so scary. My advice is controll your breathing it will bring you out of it. I frequentely used to have panic attacks in my sleep but i learnt to controll them. I f your feeling stressed, let it out in the rifgt ways or it'll efecct your sleep and result in your panic attacks. Do remember that when you awake and you are in this state CONTROLL your brathing and you will come
