Some people are so used to negative comments that when a positive one comes its hard to accept...

I think it is human nature to constantly be judging ourselves...sometimes when you can't see it in yourself, it's hard to believe others can

It has to do with people self esteem, some think that they're not good enough to be with certain people. Making them self feel sad and lonely..

Because after envy comes .... (= competition, struggeling, ...). Above all, if you are not really happy with yourself, you cannot really accept something which is incoherent with your own belief (even if you would like all that to be coherent).

That very much depends upon how you view yourself.
You don't have to be conceited to have a clue as to how much you are worth. I know I'm great I don't find it hard to accept that someone likes me - just as I don't find it hard to like other people. |

Viktória has two children. The oldest, Flóra, is ten years old. She is a bit obese and lacks self-confidence. Viktória always tells her how pretty and clever she is to help her gain back her confidence. She told it to me, and I can't get it out of my head. After this how could I not question her intentions when she says she has never had a student like me? How do I know if she really means it? How do I know why you say I'm special? How do I know why Jellz says that she enjoys my mind? Maybe you all say such things because you just want to make me feel better. It is the worst doubt.

Admittedly it's not hard for me because I wan't people to like me anyway so I do do things to please them so they give me positive feedback.
However.....when I say to someone like CG that I like her mind, I mean it 100% no strings attached - my integrity in pouring praise on people is genuine when they make me laugh or happy or think or make my day better. I want to encourage the postive side of people. My friends deserve my support and love. But I cannot make them accept it. "You can lead a horse to water....."(look it up Dóra) |
